Broadway dreams come true for APU Theater alum Marcie Dodd (01), who stars as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in the hit musical Wicked. Dodd garnered praise for her portrayal of the role in Los Angeles and on the national tour. Now, she steps into the New York spotlight, as the show marks its fifth anniversary. In an interview with Broadway.com, Dodd says, “I’m really excited to make this debut and bring what I can of myself to the role.” Her performances begin this week at the Gershwin Theater. | Alumni filmmakers John Schimke (03) and Stewart Redwine (05) have signed with Zondervan to distribute their project 36 Parables, a series of short films that recast Jesus’ moral tales using modern motifs and metaphors. The project brings fresh imagery to classic stories like the Good Samaritan and Parable of the Talents, giving churches an unprecedented cinematic tool for teaching the Gospel.
